Smart Gardening Fair 2012

April 14th, 9AM - 3PM

Come and enjoy the 6th annual Smart Gardening Fair!  As hosts, the Monterey Bay Master Gardeners organize the Fair as an annual educational event that is free to the public.

The scene is a colorful marketplace of all things gardening with a focus on sustainable and water-wise practices. Gardening- and eco-related businesses present a wide selection of goods and services. Non-profit groups, garden clubs and organizations share their gardening knowledge and passions.  An exciting buffet of ongoing demonstrations provide a fun way to learn about topics such as plant propagation, cooking with local produce, composting, pruning, bee keeping and more.

Most noteworthy, we have assembled a group of highly respected speakers on a variety of timely gardening topics.  (Schedule follows)  Finally, our Kids Activities Corner, food and drink booths and music will round out the picture and make it a fun and memorable day.

Though the fair will be held on the Monterey Peninsula, it is an outing worthy of consideration for anyone in the Central Coast region of California.  The gardening education event will be held adjacent to the Crossroads Carmel at the corner of Rio Road and Highway 1 in Carmel. This State Parks property provides plenty of parking and is close to the ocean, quaint shops and lovely Carmel.

Mark your calendar for a joyful day all gardening.
